God clothed Adam and Eve to cover their awareness of nakedness after they sinned. In what ways do you use clothing to cover and hide issues that exist in your life? Could you talk with God about those issues?
God showed His loving nature when He replaced Adam and Eve’s flimsy fig-leaf outfits with durable and probably beautifully fashioned animal skins. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about clothes, which isn’t unusual in itself, but my recent reflections have had a more spiritual focus. I’ve been studying the first few chapters of Genesis and pondering that God made the first set of clothes (Genesis 3:21). In light of the fact that we need to garb ourselves daily, dressing actually invites us into a regular rhythm of reflection if we care to participate. Here are some possible spiritual topics for consideration and prayer from the clothes closet.
