ESDA has 2 levels of involvement: Spiritual Director Member and Educational Companion.

Spiritual Director Member Annual Fee

$118 USD for domestic membership annually ($130 USD international) which can be paid with a one-time payment or in 3 monthly installments

Spiritual Director Member Benefits
  • Membership in a network of trained spiritual directors of similar theological beliefs

  • A professional listing on our website, including a photo and short biography, accessible by churches, potential directees and fellow spiritual directors for referral purposes

  • Access to affordable liability insurance (U.S. and Canadian residents only)

  • Subscriptions to both Conversations Journal and the Journal of Spiritual Formation and Soul Care (a $48 value)

  • A Members Only section of our website, full of professional resources to support your ministry, such as:

    • A customizable brochure for potential directees
    • Sample directee covenant/agreement
    • A list of available supervisors and other supervision resources
    • Helpful publications and articles
    • An ESDA bookstore, and more
  • A monthly e-newsletter filled with information about the ministry of spiritual direction

Additionally, as we grow, our plan will be to host webinars, conferences, retreats and events to support our members in their ministries.

Educational Companion Annual Fee

$78 USD for domestic membership annually ($90 USD international) which can be paid with a one-time payment or in 2 monthly installments

Educational Companion Benefits

Additionally, as we grow, our plan will be to host webinars, conferences, retreats and events to help our Educational Companions become more knowledgeable about the ministry of spiritual direction.

Special Note: If you complete your spiritual direction training while you are an ESDA Educational Companion, we will upgrade you to the Spiritual Director Member level for free for the remainder of your year.
