ESDA is pleased to offer the following organizations as helpful resources in the area of spiritual direction and spiritual formation:

Biola University’s Institute for Spiritual Formation
A Christian, evangelical, academic community within Biola University and Talbot School of Theology. Located in Southern California they offer an MA in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care, an MA and an MDiv with an emphasis in Spiritual Formation, and a Certificate in Spiritual Formation, and are dedicated to deepening the life of prayer and openness of the heart to God.

Denver Seminary
For the past 12 years Denver Seminary has provided training in spiritual direction that is evangelical in theology, classical in approach, and contemplative in spirit. Currently they offer a Certificate, an M.Div Concentration, and an M.A. in Christian Formation and Soul Care.

George Fox Evangelical Seminary
Located in Oregon, this seminary trains persons as spiritual guides in the Christian tradition with various degrees offered either locally or online.

Selah at Leadership Transformations
Located in New England, Selah is intentionally Trinitarian in theology, contemplative in style, biblical in grounding, offering a certificate program in spiritual direction through a residential model.

Tyndale Seminary
Located in Toronto, Canada, this evangelical seminary offers both an MDiv and an MTS in Spiritual Formation which can include training in spiritual direction.

Functioning much as an evangelical order, Imago Christi is an international and cross-cultural covenant community that develops spiritual formation resources and provides coaching for Christian leaders so that they may minister out of a deepening love for God and personal transformation in the image of Christ. Three-day “Spiritual Formation Discovery” events, offered throughout the world, are the primary means of introduction to the order, and are complimented by various print resources.
