"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets." Matthew 22:37-40
Jesus taught twelve disparate people how to love God and each other, and in turn, they showed the world how to love. Christians today, however, are increasingly stunted by counterfeit intimacy. We are polarized by race, gender, interest group, and generation. We feel easily estranged from our closest relationships, even from God. We are relationally feeble, yet Christ calls us to be world-renowned experts in love.
Life with God: A Journey of Relationship is essential training for all Christians in how God calls us to relate. Inspired by evangelical Bible study, spiritual formation, and the recovery movement, Life with God forms deep, discerning communities within the Body of Christ and equips participants to always engage with God, the world, and one another.
Life with God: A Journey of Relationship is a 1-3 year discipleship curriculum that creates relationally capable people. Over six 12-week semesters, Christians break down barriers that exist across all of their relationships, including with God, with other Christians, with friends and family members, and with their neighbors.
Participants are guided by biblical teaching, the Holy Spirit, and a small group leader trained from within your community. They build habits of love and reconciliation, learning for example:
Life with God is flexibly designed to fit within the weekly routines of individuals and churches, requiring only one hour of time for community meetings and no more than two hours of time during the week. It is also incredibly affordable, with sponsorships available to new participants from former participants.
The first year of the curriculum is a comprehensive journey based on the Book of Genesis that eases people into deep intimacy with God and other Christians. The second and third year are elective studies in specific aspects of Christian maturity, such as dealing with our desires, knowing our vocation, and abiding with Christ.
The stories of Scripture are layered with relational meanings. They invite reflection on the way God and His people ought to relate, and where relationship breaks down.
Life with God brings rich theological concepts and spiritual development into the Christian experience without the unfamiliar terminology. We explore the relational teachings of the Bible through the Bible. We rely on the way the Bible presents and articulates its relational themes. For this reason, Life with God is uniquely accessible to the church and to believers of various backgrounds.
Life with God is a powerful way to build life-long relational skills inside of a church, a Christian university, or any other fellowship group. Not only does it serve individuals and their personal needs, it also establishes Christian cultures around relational virtues.
